About The Site

I created this website for my Education Technology class but would like to use it for future employers. I would like to become a teacher one day but would like to explore different job opportunities that could help me with my teaching career. This is similar to a resume but I wanted to do something a little bit more creative then just a paper with a bunch of words on it. (It may seem a little bland for now but I will add more content later.)

About The Site
About Me
About Me

My name is Brianna Hughes and here's a little bit about me. I grew up right outside of Philadelphia and was in Marching Band and Indoor Drumline in high school as a dancer.  I am currently an Early Childhood Education major at Bloomsburg University and have a very strong passion for teaching and hope to inspire children one day. I also hope to bring my dance background to the class which I think will make it more fun to learn.

My Work

My Work

I will link any projects that I have done that I think will be an excellent addition to this website.

Screencasting Project

The first assignment I'm adding is a tutorial on how to use Pixlr, a free online photo editing tool. I think this will help students who maybe want to edit a photo for a project but don't know how to. This would also be a good project for a technology class so the kids can get use to using the tool, and can maybe use it not just for school but also if they like photography.

Digital Video Assignment

This project is a video about dance, and is by far my favorite assignment that I have done in the class. This was my favorite because I am a dancer and have a huge passion for dancing. I have action shots of my friends dancing at competitions and videos of some choreography in this video and I was very impressed with myself when I finished it. It was my first time putting together a video and editing it, and I think I did a pretty good job.

Interactive Powerpoint

This interactive powerpoint is about rocks and minerals for a third grade science class. The point of this powerpoint is to teach the lesson alongside traditional teaching. I would use this in my classroom when I make groups of students and they rotate stations.

Web Quest

I have created a webquest to use in a first grade math class when teaching about addition. This is a very simple webquest with three links, one to a video, one to online practice, and one to online games. I think these websites will really help students to understand addition.

Powtoon Project

This next assignment is one that I did on Powtoon, a free online presentation animator. I made it as if I were talking to a class and explaining how to do a project. The assignment I was talking about was to make a commercial about one specific way we can protect the environment. I made an example within the presentation about recycling so the students would get a better understanding of what I was looking for.

Remaining Course Readings

For this project we did a lot of readings about technology in the classroom. I found some of these articles and website interesting and think I can actually use some of the information I've learned in my future classes.

Website Evaluation

This website evaluation is used to see if a website is credible or not. Nowadays there are so many fake websites with incorrect information, this tool I created will help students to see if a website is a good reliable one or not.

Power Point Game

On power point we were given templates to use to create a game we could use in our class if we're education majors. I chose the "Who Want's to be a Millionaire" game, and filled in the questions with simple US. History which is appropriate for third grade. Depending on what questions you put in the game determines if you would use this game for review at the end of each chapter, or for the "end of the year review". I think this is a fun way to get students engaged in what they are learning, while having a little fun with it.
